Unexpected Words to Avoid When Marketing Your Rentals Online
By Utopia Management
Like most owners you may be aware of how to market your San Diego rental property on Craigslist, rent.com, and other websites but did you know that there are words you should AVOID at all costs when marketing your rental online?
Yes, it’s true that there are certain words that you don’t want to use when marketing your rental property on the internet and in this issue of our San Diego property management tips we’re going to provide you with a list of those words so you don’t use them.
Words to Not Use When Marketing Your Rental
Cozy – Although it’s a common word that many people use when marketing rental listings online, cozy is one of the top words to not use because it makes people think that the rental property is small.
Breathtaking – It doesn’t matter if your rental property is in Downtown San Diego, La Mesa, Pacific Beach, or Del Mar, this word is often over-used and ignored by renters, because they are mainly searching for properties based on price more than anything else.
Nice – You may think your rental property is nice but to the reader, the word nice sounds boring and doesn’t offer anything appealing. Instead of using this word, consider going back to the “drawing board” and thinking of more descriptive words to describe your rental instead.
Unique – This keyword can also make people think of anything from a bad neighborhood to a quirky old home which hasn’t been updated in 30 years. To avoid the pitfall of using “unique” in your rental description try using better keywords which more accurately describe what your property offers.
