The average temperature difference between coastal and interior areas is 5 to 10°F, with comfortable springtime temps about 68°F and mid-80°F summertime temperatures. With an average annual rainfall of about 14 inches, the rainy season runs from late October to late March. Hermosa Beach has less smog than other areas of Los Angeles as a result of the refreshing ocean breeze.
With the AVP Hermosa Beach Open and other amateur competitions, Hermosa Beach is a well-known beach volleyball venue. For walkers, joggers, and bikers, the picturesque Strand offers a seaside trail. Woodchip pathways and rich vegetation may be found in the city's cherished Hermosa Valley Greenbelt, which locals successfully fought off commercial development. In contrast to nearby cities, Hermosa Beach also owns its beach.
