Daly City, the second most populous city in San Mateo County, California, with a population of 104,901 as of the 2020 census, is situated in the San Francisco Bay Area, immediately south of San Francisco. Daly City is well-connected by a network of state routes 1, 35, and 82 as well as Interstate 280, which is an important route that connects San Francisco to surrounding counties. Daly City serves as a key hub for public transportation, housing both the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) at its own station and the neighboring Colma Station. During typical business hours, BART's Blue and Green lines terminate at the Daly City station, providing convenient transit throughout the BART network. Moreover, Daly City is the southern end of Muni's 14 Mission Rapid and the northern end of samTrans's ECR route. Since 2016, there have been discussions on extending the Muni Metro to Daly City and possibly connecting it to the current M Ocean View line that starts at Balboa Park station.
