HQ2 would have the same effect that a Starbucks or Whole Foods has when big brands build new locations in a neighborhood. Home prices always go up because most people want to live near the store that they use on a regular basis. 

How Would HQ2 Affect the Local Commercial Rental Market? 

If Amazon were to choose LA for their HQ2 location it’s also likely that commercial rents would go up in the area of Los Angeles that Amazon chooses to build their new location as well. 

Thankfully, most analysts predict that any increases in commercial rents or other expenses would be minimal for Los Angeles area businesses because the LA area would have the ability to absorb the impact of Amazon’s move here compared to other smaller cities in the United States.
